#### Education

Boston University - B.S., Film and Television#### Experience

My teaching experience began as a substitute. I found that I enjoyed conveying knowledge to others, helping them to achieve their academic goals. I love tutoring math and science, as I feel that they are sort of like puzzles. They have many pieces that build on each other, fitting together in difference ways. I also love the logical structure of essay writing. From building a strong thesis to using clear, concise writing, I push students to fully express their ideas within the boundaries of this structure. My role as a tutor is to give students a new way of the thinking about the material in front of them. I have no interest in holding a student's hand, as I do not feel that that is an educator's role. Students should be encouraged to stretch their thinking muscles, to push their own understanding through problem solving. For this, it is important to build a student's confidence, which is why I treat them as a peer from day one. I do not antagonize or lecture to students. I speak to them on an equal level, pushing them to work for themselves.#### Hobbies
